Friday’s favorite things: December 11th

Colm Larkin

December 11, 2015

This week, we started Hightail’s 12 Days of Christmas – a special selection of festive illustrations, videos, photography, typography and more. Here are some of our favorite finds from the first five days. To see all our holiday picks, check out #HT12Days.

If you’d like your work to be featured, share it with us here.

Planner of the shapes
UK-based creative agency Shape invited designers and illustrators to contribute to an interactive Advent calendar. Each day’s creation is based around a specific shape and, of course, has to be festive-themed. We enjoyed this illustration by Christian Lindemann – check out all the great contributions and donate to help children in poverty here.

Festive type
Here’s a gorgeous piece of festive typography from our own archives. This spectacular Season’s Greetings was created for Hightail by the brilliant designer Austin Petito.

Frosting the snowman
After Cake Girls, Brenda and Mary, lost their cake shop to a fire in 2010, they rediscovered the joy of baking at home. Now they share their tips and recipes to help home bakers create outstanding cakes, like these Snowman cupcakes.
