Every Friday we round up some of our favorite finds on the web, from illustrations and videos to fonts and photography. This week, we enjoyed some smart logo designs.

When asked to create a logo for Embark – a startup producing DNA test kits for dogs – the San Francisco team at global branding firm MetaDesign had a moment of gene-ius with this really clever design.

Dot-to-dot
UK-based digital agency Eight Zero highlighted their own design chops with this beautifully simple evocation of their name. It also looks great on coffee mugs.

What do you see?
Canadian designer James Waldner – aka Lumo – wondered whether he should represent birds or mammals when asked to design a logo for pet store, Feathers and Fur. In the end he used a lovely piece of optical trickery to do both.
